Indigenous Scholars Awards and Supplements Pilot Initiative – CIHR & NSERC

The Indigenous Scholars Awards and Supplements Pilot Initiative will provide financial support to meritorious Indigenous students who have applied to the Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s (CGS M) program.
The CGS M program supports high-calibre scholars who are pursuing eligible master’s or, in some cases, doctoral programs at Canadian institutions. This funding enables students to focus fully on their studies in their chosen fields.
As part of this pilot initiative, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) will use the results of the CGS M competition to offer Indigenous Scholars Awards. In addition, both agencies will offer Indigenous Scholars Supplements to eligible recipients.
